Continuing from my previous post 365 project post, last weekend I attended a wedding reception for my dad and stopmom. My three brothers and I were all together for the first time in a few years, and there was lots of delicious food (see the pies?). On Monday, I began a roadtrip out to southern California where I’ll be spending the rest of my summer as an intern at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL). I stopped a few interesting places on my way, including the Grand Canyon!
These little pies were quite the hit at my dad and stepmom’s wedding reception this weekend!
My three younger brothers out for a walk on Sunday afternoon.
On my way to California, I stayed at an Airbnb in Tulsa, OK, near the Arkansas River. After a long day of driving, I ate some Chinese takeout and watched the sun set.
Texas makes sure you always know what state you’re in… This is one of several large star-shaped holes in a rest stop building.
I made a small detour from I-40 and spent a few days at the Grand Canyon. On the left, you can see the Bright Angel Trail winding down into the canyon.
A view of the Colorado River from Plateau Point; I reached this point by hiking down into the canyon via the Bright Angel Trail.
Whenver I’m in a place with very little light pollution, I like to try to capture some astrophotos!
